How To Create A GREAT Church Ad on Google

KEY: Localize, Localize, Localize

Many churches have a set budget for advertising to get exposure. While the internet is used to reach the masses all over the world, the intention of writing an ad on Google is to reach a target audience. Why are you paying Google to advertise your church in another state? The likelyhood that you would get your desired result (i.e. inviting someone to become a member) is very low. Even if your church provides an online stream of your services, statistics show that most people will choose an online church which has an establishment close to them – in the event they ever want to visit said location.

Google charges you for every click, so every click should be intentional. Obviously, there will be the lookie-loos and competitors who aren’t serious about your call-to-action, but the best strategy is the following:

  1. Narrow your target audience to a specific group first
  2. Test the field with a few experimental ads to gauge a reaction and create some quick results
  3. Later, expand your ad strategy to include nearby areas outside your immediate local city
  4. Use some keyword research to improve the location of where your ads get placed

Follow the training in this video and you should have a more effective and concise ad that can help get you the results you’re looking for.

But Hang On!

I want to offer one more thing – I perform complimentary website audits. My business is built around helping small local businesses rank better on search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo. By doing so, I make their websites visible and pull in business for them. If your church needs help with a Google Ad strategy, there’s a chance your website might need some work too. If you’re interested, I can offer a comprehensive video analysis of your website and show you it’s areas of strengths and weaknesses. Once again, it’s complimentary! I just want to build some good faith with you to show my intention is to help.
